Tombstone Tuesday: Daniel and Sarah Carter
Daniel and Sarah Carter and their daughter Mary were the first permanent white settlers in Alpena, arriving on November 26, 1856, according to Bob Haltiner in "The Town that Wouldn't Die." This beautiful marker is a fitting tribute to these "pillars" of our community.
